Why Water Deeply and Infrequently?
The #1 mistake in lawn care is shallow, daily watering. This teaches the grass roots to stay near the surface, creating a weak, needy lawn that can’t handle heat or drought. Watering for longer periods, but less often (e.g., twice a week), forces the roots to grow deeper in search of water. This creates a resilient, self-sufficient lawn.
Pro-Tip: The Best Time to Water. Always water in the early morning (4 AM to 9 AM). Watering in the middle of the day leads to massive water loss from evaporation. Watering at night leaves the grass blades wet for hours, creating a perfect environment for fungal diseases to grow. Morning is the ideal balance.
